Preparation for Auditions - Assignment 1

Lesson 1 - 11th September 2014
Preparation for Auditions

There are 3 main part to preparing yourself for the auditions and your further in the Musical Theatre:
Attitude, Appearance and Attendance!

You need to have the right attitude for wanting to do well and go far in musical theatre, the right approach of getting and the manner in which you do that.
Ways to do this is making your own and always being busy and doing stuff which will help you in the long run and look good on your CV, making your own projects or being in other peoples projects.
These projects might not make you loads of money or you probably won't even get money from them but they will help you get the experience and get to know people that could always be a help in the further, Work creates Work!
You are the "business" in your eyes, you need to think it is an business!

Making and having prepared a"showreel" will help promote yourself as at any time someone or anyone wants to see what you do, a mixture of all your work and performances will be in one clip/video for them to watch not just once but over and over again. The showreel should have live, professional footage on it, make sure the footage is a lll of a similar age as directors or other people in the business do not want to see young footage as you don't like look that or perform like that now.

The appearance of yourself and they way you present yourself is important, especially for first impressions.
